Living in Marin and Napa Counties, I can't but help experience the beauty of the environment.
I would say that my imagined images are suggestions of the place, a loose depiction which create a visual "feel" of the locale. Saturated color is my weakness or strength...My plein air work is not as loose but still conveys the character and atmosphere of the place.
The animal paintings most often reference a relationship of man to animal. I pick many of the fauna I paint because I am enthralled with their beauty. Many of these animals have dwindled in numbers and my paintings sometimes include under paintings of humans thus commenting on our relationship in this physical world...
